Rode into town and checked for oil at the hardware store and gas station. Found something acceptable at the gas station. The mechanic let me pull around back to do the oil change. He even gave me some rags and a container to catch the oil and took the old oil for disposal. Big, friendly guy. Told me how his girl friend had to rescue him the other day on his birthday when he got drunk and thought he shouldn't ride his Harley home.
After the oil change ate breakfast at the King Edward and went back to the campground to pack up. Returned to the hotel to check in and leave my luggage.
Then over to Hyder and up the 18 or so miles of gravel to Salmon Glacier. Tires were great but bike is running a bit rough.
Spent some time poking around the harbor area in Hyder, ate an early dinner at the Bus Restaurant and back to the hotel to wash clothes.
Tomorrow, bike willing, turn south and head for home. Salmon Glacier was the turning point of this abbreviated trip.
