Route today was Barriere to Kamloops on BC-5, then 5 South to Abbotsford and the border.  Then secondary roads to Bellingham and the I-5.  From there a few minutes to an Airbnb for the night.  Alternately sunny and cloudy, warm and chilly.

It took at least an hour to cross the border crawling along in the queue.  People who know their way around have infuriating methods of cutting in line like entering from side streets or getting in the faster moving NEXUS line and then switching over at the last minute pretending to not have realized they were in the wrong line.  One lady in an SUV trying to get in from a side street made eye contact to request entry but I just slowly shook my head and zipped on in front of her.  A small satisfaction.

The route south from Kamloops is pretty and occasionally spectacular.  It was somewhat spoiled for me by a heavy head wind that only increased when the mountains closed in forming a kind of wind tunnel.

Sunflowers seen from my second floor motel window.
They appear foreshortened by the perspective, but compare
them to the cars. Some must have been well over 8 feet.
Everything seems to grow really well here.

This was new for me: electric charging stations at a highway
rest stop.
